Developing Effective Business Models
Courses
Description:
Many entrepreneurs can tell you their business idea, talk about their product and services, an even show you their business plan. But ask the question “what’s your business model” and they get tongue tied. Every entrepreneur must take the time to develop an effective business model for their business, and not be afraid to tweak it until they get it right. It is your company’s plan for how it competes, uses resources, structure relationships, interface with customers and creates value to sustain itself based on profits you earn. It is possible to have a blended or even multiple business models, as long as the company can generate revenue. In this class we’ll discuss the types of business models and their importance, how business models emerge, examine some potential fatal flaws, and construct the components of effective business models. We will take a look at four case study companies and examine their business models to determine what worked, what didn’t and why, then learn how to apply what you learn to your own business model.
